The Government of Canada offers tax
measures to help Canadian families with children, including the
Child Care Expense Deduction, which helps pay for the cost of child
care by providing a deduction from a parent's personal income taxes
for children under a certain age.
If you or
your spouse or common-law partner paid for someone to look after
your child so that you could earn income, go to school or do
research during the year, you may be eligible to claim child care
expenses on your tax return. Parents of children with severe
disabilities, and who are eligible for the disability tax credit,
can claim an additional deduction.

Child and Family Benefits web page.
The
Government of Ontario also provides financial assistance that is
directed exclusively to low and modest-income working families to
help with their child care costs. This funding is provided through
the Ontario Child Care Supplement for Working Families.
For more
details regarding the supplement and how to apply, please contact
the Ministry of Finance's Information Centre toll-free at

The County
of Middlesex child care fee subsidies also help provide
financial assistance toward the cost of licensed child care for
parents who are "persons in need" (determined by an income test),
and for parents of children with special needs.
